Configuring: Clip Values
Select one or more fields to limit within a value range, define the limits, and specify how the values are going to be modified if they fall outside of the limits. Null values in the current dataset will remain as null values.
Steps to configure
-
Field selection: Select the fields to limit and clip values.
-
Assign limits: Define the type of limit required, and how to replace the values that fall outside the limits.
-
Field clipping: Customize the clipping limits for each field.
-
Execute: The dataset is modified to contain the clipped values.
Step 1: Field selection
-
Select the fields to limit and clip values.
-
Only the double and integer fields will be available for selection.
-
Default: All double and integer fields are listed in the available window.
-
Minimum configuration: At least one field needs to be selected.
Step 2: Assign limits
Define the type of limit required, and how to replace the values that fall outside the limits.
-
Highlight the field and apply an upper limit, lower limit, or both upper and lower limits.
-
Select to replace the values with either the limit value or a null value.
-
Define default upper and lower limits if applicable. These values can be customized for each field in the following step.
-
Default: No limits are configured.
-
Minimum configuration: Each selected field needs at least one type of limit: an upper limit, lower limit, or both upper and lower limits.
Step 3: Field clipping
Customize the clipping limits for each field.
-
Minimum and maximum values are used as the limits if no default limit values were configured in the previous step.
-
A maximum of 17 fields are listed at a time on this page. Use [Next] and [Previous] to scroll through the complete list of fields.
-
Default: The default upper and lower limits are applied to all fields, if configured in the previous step.
-
Minimum configuration: Valid limits for all fields.
Step 4: Execute
The dataset is modified to contain the clipped values.
